How To Find Motivation

Posted on: 11-9-2005 Posted in: Motivational Tips and Ideas

Dear Cricket,

Do you ever lose motivation? Do you ever lose inspiration?

Where do you find it again?

Hi Laura!

Of course! We all have those days when we wonder why on earth we ever got into this business. Sometimes this is caused by not taking enough time for ourselves and our families. A huge part of success is making sure we find balance in our lives. When you have those moments when you just cannot get it together, walk away from it all for a bit, even if only for the evening.

Make sure that you are associating yourself with positive individuals. It is way too easy to get caught up in groups or forums that spend a ton of time discussing every reason it can’t be done, instead of finding ways that it CAN be done. If you are surrounded with negative discussions, finding motivation within yourself can be difficult at best.

Try to remember the old saying that success is a journey, not a destination. If you look back at how very far you have come in a relatively short period of time, you will start to feel motivated again pretty quickly.

If you truly want to learn how to find motivation from within, let me recommend a book that made a tremendous difference in my life. Take the time to track this one down, because it will be well worth it. The author, Zig Ziglar is a motivational speaker out of Dallas, Texas. The book is called, See You at The Top. I frequently see it available at the public library, second hand book stores, and on eBay, so affordability shouldn’t be an issue. This book goes beyond teaching you ways to run a successful business. It teaches you how to find balance in your life.

I WILL DEFINITELY SEE YOU AT THE TOP!
